NAME

JOB TITLE

Assistant Sales Manager

TIME AT NEWTOWN

10 years

What do you do at Newtown?

I'm the assistant manager of the Vauxhall Sales Department, selling new, used & motability cars to our customers and ensuring the team are delivering first-class customer service.

How did you get your job?

I was told about the job by a friend I used to work with. I remember that I was little apprehensive to apply as I was only 20 years old at the time! But I started out as a trainee salesman and soon fell in love with the job and the buzz of selling cars, and I'm now proud to have worked my way up to the role of assistant manager.

What’s a typical day like for you?

Every single day is different and that's what I love most about my job. I start every day with a sales meeting then make my way to admin to collect my paperwork and annoy the admin girls.

Tell us one thing you’ve learnt from working here and one thing you love.

I have learned to always treat customers fairly and always be honest. You will gain so much more respect and trust that way. One thing I love is the variety of people we get to meet. I have customers who have become friends after being loyal to not just Newtown Motors but to me for over 10 years. Newtown has given me many memories that I will always cherish. My favourite was being invited to a private suite for Alex Ferguson's last game at old Trafford where united lifted the league title. What an experience.

What’s your proudest moment (in work and in life)?

My proudest moment in work was when I was promoted to Assistant Sales Manager. It meant a lot to me and proved that if you work hard, you can achieve your goals. My proudest moment outside of work was when I purchased my first home.

What motivates you to get up in the morning?

My motivation every morning is to provide for my family and make a better life for myself and my future wife.

What’s the one phrase that sums up your approach to work/life?

"Believe you can and you're halfway there."

Tell us something we might not know about you...

Well one thing a lot of people don't realise is that I am English. My Welsh accent fools a lot of people but I am actually from Bristol and moved to Wales when I was 2. This little fact only comes out around the 6 nations when I got a lot of stick.

What do you like to do after work?

After work I like to play Squash, Walk my dog or chill in my hot tub with a cold beer.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I never thought about getting older when I was young but I have always had a love for cars. I never planned to sell cars but its given me a lot in life and I owe a lot to the trade and Newtown Motors.

Tell us one thing that would be on your bucket list.

One thing on my bucket list is to go to Barcelona to watch a el clasico match against Madrid.

Who would play you in Newtown Motors the Movie?

Daniel Craig, of course!
