Every month we take a look at one of the Newtown team, following them on a typical day in our always-busy and never-dull business.
This month, Lauren gives us a peek into what they’ve been up to in Sales.
1 year, 7 months
I work behind the scenes at Newtown, dealing with the sales paper work. My role is pretty varied but generally entails the invoicing of new and used cars to customers, taxing new and used vehicles and ordering new vehicles.
I knew someone that worked here and got told about a job opening. I knew Newtown was a family run business and this made the job even more attractive so I applied. Next thing I knew, I got a phone call asking me to come in for an interview and I was lucky enough get the job.
I come in and say 'good morning' to everyone I see before making myself a cup of coffee to get my mind ready to start processing all the work that has magically found its way to my desk overnight!
I've definitely learnt how to deal with high pressure situations, but even that doesn’t put me off the job. I love working at Newtown Motors; it's such a wonderful family company to work for. Plus there's the added benefit of driving the many wonderful cars that we have on site!
Well my proudest moment in work has to be winning the annual Christmas colouring competition two years in a row. In life, my proudest moment has to be becoming a home owner for the first time.
I'm definitely motivated by the people that I work with! I've never laughed so much
in a job. If you're having a bad day, the Newtown family will put a smile back on your face.
Don't limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, you can achieve.
I'm a scuba diver. I've been diving for three years and have completed my advanced open water certification. Two of my favourite places to dive have to be Cancun in Mexico and the World Islands in Dubai.
I enjoy dancing and cheerleading. With that being said, I don’t think there's anything better than going home, getting into my pyjamas and ordering a pizza to and watch my favourite series on Netflix!
When I was growing up, I always wanted to be a policewoman. As I’ve got older, I’ve realised that my passion lies in interior design. In the future, I'd like to open my own business as an interior decorator.
Taking a gondola ride in Venice; I'd like to tick that off my list.
