Welcome to the latest edition of Newtown News; our monthly blog that keeps you updated on the comings and goings in the Newtown Motors Group. In May our Nissan, Vauxhall, Lotus and Morgan dealerships were making the most of the spring sunshine and getting out and about.
Our first stop was the Worcester Motor Festival, on Saturday May 14th, where they were celebrating their 10th anniversary!
We were there alongside over 100 rare and historic vehicles from the 20s through the 70s. We took a selection of cars, including the new lotus exile club racer, which can reach 170 miles an hour and go from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds! The Mayor of Worcester had a guided tour of the cars with our very own Mandy and seemed impressed.
Some long-legged fellows could only look on yearningly, because they certainly weren’t going to fit inside the Lotus Exige that we took! We also got a mention in the Worcester News review of the event.
On the bank holiday weekend, we spent Sunday the 29th and Monday the 30th of May at the Abergavenny Steam Rally. With steam traction engines, steam organs, vintage and military vehicles, as well as models, farming machinery and even birds of prey, it was a great two days.
The British countryside beckoned once more, so we decided to take a new Morgan Plus 4 for a test drive.
We were certainly spoilt by the weather in May. Since we’re planning on getting on the road again in June, let’s keep our fingers crossed for more sunshine.
