Newtown News - June 2016

Welcome to the latest edition of Newtown News; our monthly blog that keeps you updated on the comings and goings of our Nissan, Vauxhall, Lotus and Morgan dealerships in the Newtown Motors Group.

In July, we hosted our first Motor Sport Evening in Hereford and our ninth Motor Sport Evening in Cwmbran. In between all the preparations, we also found the time to attend some other great events too.

The Hereford Motorsport event

As you've probably seen, we regularly attend plenty of motorsport events throughout the year, but we were delighted to actually host our first ever Motor Sporting Evening at our Hereford branch! We partnered up with Herefordshire Motor Club to host the free event on July 5 th. You’ll probably have heard us talk about our successful Motor Sport Open Evenings at our Cwmbran branch, but this July was the first time we brought the event to Hereford. We even managed to raise £220 for County Air Ambulance. All in all, we'd say it was a resounding success!

The Cwmbran Motorsport event.

After our brand new Hereford Motorsport Event, we continued with our Cwmbran Motorsport evening. We even had a special visit from rally driver Osian Pryce and British GT3 racing driver, Ryan Ratcliffe. As usual, it was a great turn out and we can’t wait until the next one.

Le Mans Classic

On Friday 8th July, we headed to the Le Mans Classic event in France. The biennial event celebrates the history of the Le Mans 24 Hours, and with 123,000 spectators turning up it was quite the celebration! There was even a special appearance and performance from the no.1 hit singer, Pharrell Williams.

Thrill On The Hill

The Morgan Motor Company celebrated 80 years of the Morgan 4/4 so we attended their annual Thrill On The Hill event to join in the celebrations. With tethered balloon rides, live music and plenty of other entertainment, there was something for everyone. But of course, as the name suggests, the main highlight was the hill runs.  Taking place on the stunning Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, sports cars from past and present delighted the crowds by tackling the challenging climb.
