History

Newtown Motors is a family-run business, which has roots stretching back to 1950 when Glyn Davies Snr and his wife Jean opened a garage at Garndiffaith, a small village just north of Pontypool. They moved into Cwmbran in 1966 as Newtown Motors, a name befitting the growing town’s status. Glyn Davies Jnr left his pro-golfing career in 1989 to join his brother Barry in running the business. The latest development sees Glyn as Dealer Principal for Newtown Nissan. The project represents a significant investment in the motor trade for the town, where Newtown already operates Vauxhall, Chevrolet and Morgan dealerships. The new Nissan showroom was officially opened by the Mayor of Torfaen.

Newtown Launches Nissan in South East Wales Newtown Motors are proud to announce that they have been awarded the Nissan franchise for South East Wales. The company has just opened a brand new, purpose-built facility in Cwmbran, housing a new car showroom, fully equipped workshops and parts department. There is also a used car operation on site, carrying the full range of pre-owned ‘Cared4’ Nissan vehicles. Cwmbran is geographically at the centre of the region, with easy access and plenty of customer parking. As a special ‘welcome to Newtown’ offer, all current Nissan owners can drive to Newtown before the end of February and get a full winter health check on their vehicle absolutely free. Newtown is set to become the first choice for Nissan sales and service in South East Wales.
